After being fired from her job due to the economic crisis, Lama finds herself stuck in a bizarre and absurd situation in which the entire population had their money stolen by the banks and are no longer able to secure electricity and gasoline. Lama’s anxieties cause her to lose her hearing; she decides to escape Beirut by going back to her childhood village, where she meets Jamil and other villagers convinced that the new ATM swallowed their money.
